Household ingredients you can make use of
Baking Soda – This polishes, gets rid of stains, scours, deodorizes and just helps cleaning in general.
Bleach – This is a well know disinfectant that also removes mould and mildew and can be used to deodorise.
Ammonia – Cleans windows, reduces grease and strips wax from flooring.
Corn Starch – Can be used for cleaning and deodorising carpets and rugs
Salt – Makes a great scouring powder
Ketchup – This can be used to clean copper
Lemon Juice – Whitens items and also reduces grease and stains on porcelain and aluminium.
Vinegar – Can be used for cleaning windows and shining metal surfaces
Note: Combining the ingredients above can sometimes produce better cleaning results however please remember to NEVER mix bleach and ammonia together.

Getting Rid of Bottle Labels
Getting rid of bottle labels can often be a real difficulty, some come off really easily however others will just not budge at all and if they do they often leave a mess of leftover paper and glue etc. on the bottle. For removing labels from glass ware many people will just often use warm water and soap, however this still can leave glue on the bottle. The best way to get rid of this is to apply a touch of peanut butter to it and rub it across the bottle with your finger. This will melt the glue.

Crayon Marks
If you have small children around the ages of 2 and upwards then you will have probably by now had some experience in trying to get crayon marks off the wall. Children love playing with crayons but they never seem to draw on the right places! If you are struggling with getting crayon marks off your wall then don’t worry, there is a fairly easy way of doing it. First, get yourself a soft cloth and some WD-40. Then, spray the WD-40 onto the cloth and wipe the spot on your wall where the marks are. The oil will be absorbed into the cloth and everything else will work on the wax. This is a good method of removal for paper and painted surfaces.

Grease Stains on your Work Clothes
Do your work clothes suffer from grease and oil stains after a hard days work? If so then you will probably know that there isn’t an easy way to get them off. If you think this, you are wrong. Add half a cup of ammonia in your washing and it will loosen up the stains, make your clothes cleaner and get rid of the mess.

Odour Removal
Does your home or workplace have odours lingering around that you do not like, either from cooking, smoking or something else? If so then a good way to help is using an air freshener. However, a more natural way and to completely get rid of the odours is to fill a bowl (or a small container) with cotton balls, pour in some vinegar and then place it in a safe area that is out of the way. It is a good idea to keep one of these in every room and repeat the process weekly.

Remove Rust from Sink
Does your sink suffer from rust? Is it made of metal? If so, then the rust can easily be removed. All you need to do is wet the stain and pour baking soda on it. Then, allow it to set overnight. After this, run some water and simply wipe the rust down the drain.

Sterilize Sponges
Do you want to sterilize the sponges used in your kitchen quickly to kill germs and bacteria? The best way to do so is to place a damp sponge in the microwave for 20 seconds. This will kill all bacteria. I recommend that you do this once a week or more often if you need to.

Oven Racks
Oven racks can often be extremely difficult to clean and get all of the dirt, grease and stains off them. One of the best ways that you can effectively clean your oven racks and burner bibs is to place them in a large plastic bin liner and then spray over them with an oven cleaner. Once you have done this, tie the bag shut and leave it overnight. Rinse the next day.
Always put safety first when cleaning anything and remember to follow precautions when using any cleaning product.
